Dojo Cho, Head Instructor
I started training in Aikido in February 1989 in Baltimore under Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, Zenko Okimura Shihan, Chuck Weber Shihan, and Charlie Page Shihan. In 1991 I moved to Boulder, CO to train intensely under Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan who was my teacher for 16 years. I taught my first Beginner class at Boulder Aikikai in 1993. I was the head instructor at the University of Colorado Aikido Club for 4 years while I trained and taught at Boulder Aikikai. From 1999-2003 I trained and was a weekly instructor at Bond St Dojo in NYC under Paul Kang Shihan and Christine Jordan Shihan often taking classes with Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan, Seiichi Sugano Shihan, and Donovan Waite Shihan at New York Aikikai. I was head instructor and dojo-cho at Jiai Aikido in San Diego from 2010 to 2015. I started Kagami Dojo in 2019. Other teachers who have influenced my Aikido include Martin Katz Sensei, Frank Doran Shihan, Christian TIssier Shihan, Jan Nevelius Shihan, Mary Heiny Shihan, Kevin Choate Sensei, and Tres Hofmeister Shihan.
